Reasons for not playing looper well.

Well, so, does anyone know or explain why you can’t play looper well?

1. Bad sense of rhythm. And it is difficult to take the pitch in vocal.
2. It is difficult to manipulate a looper.

あI personally think that your point of view might be wrong if you mainly think the reason is because number 2.

I have been playing looper for more than ten years and there was some reason why “2” if a looper machine is an old type.But I could say “2” is not the reason because I think most of the new looper machines are probably made significant improvements.
Most of your problems might be resolved by changing to a new looper if using the old type of looper.
*I personally recommend button types of looper if you want to record looper exactly the right timing.

But, it is nine cases out of ten your problem if you still have serious problems like “sense of rhythms…” even using recent sold looper.I guess it is tough,

though do not turn away from the problems, face them as it is, that is the first step to be better.

Looper confronts to you such a severe reality,

This is not talking much about “looper” but rather talking about “the essence of music”, but sadly most of music teacher don’t teach it.It is nonsence to be better without it even if you desperately practice hard for sence of rhythm or pitch.

I will give you one simple example.

If you think “he or she is not so good at singing” when you went to Karaoke with friends

• Singing is not fit with Karaoke accompaniment.
• Bad pitch
• His or her voice is louder or lower than Karaoke accompaniment sound.

I guess there are those common problems.

But do you think why do they happen so?

The reason is because your friend physically loses the sound of Karaoke accompaniment and her own voice in some parts while singing.

If you have experienced things the above,

Therefore those big problems happen that you can not sing well nor play well.

When learning a language, listening is coming at the first, then talking.

I can say it is the same thing for improving music.

Looper is the machine which puts together your voice, play and played in the past, it can not be formed if you can not monitor correctly from beginning to end.

I can say looper is an optimal practicing tool for growing the ability of “listening”.

I think most of problems might resolve like getting the rhythm on looper with changing this consciousness.
But, in order to much deeper parts of “good sense of rhythm”, “good at singing”, even professionals have been seeking every day.
